Safety and consent

The Nest's full consent and safety policy. If it's your first time, the arrival guide is enough to get you through the door — this page is the complete version, here whenever you need it.

RACK and SSC

Safety and pleasure are not part of the atmosphere — they are a responsibility everyone here shares. The Nest uses both RACK and SSC.

RACK (Risk-Aware Consensual Kink) — every practice, however light or intense, and whichever side you are on, involves three things:

  • Risk awareness: understand what a given act can do to body and mind.
  • Informed consent: confirm beforehand that everyone knows what will happen and wants to take part.
  • Personal responsibility: if you have been drinking, are on medication, or are emotionally unsteady, hold off.

SSC (Safe, Sane, Consensual) — the floor for anything that happens here:

  • Safe: risky acts are not a way to test where the limit is.
  • Sane: act while clear-headed and unimpaired.
  • Consensual: consent must be explicit, ongoing, and revocable.

Tops and bottoms carry the risk and the responsibility equally. If you are unsure whether you are in the right state today, say “pause” — that is not backing out, it is the most grown-up respect you can show yourself and the other person. Staff can help you talk it through.

Ask out loud, in plain words, and act only once you have a clear yes.

If anything feels wrong or uncertain, at any point, call the safeword out loud. Staff will come immediately.

Do this

  • Make the invitation to play explicit.
  • Act only on “yes”, “okay”, “sure” — an actual answer.
  • On hearing the safeword, stop everything at once: make the other person safe first, then check in on them.
  • Call the safeword to end things when you are not doing well, even if the other person has done nothing wrong.

Not this

  • Confessing to someone, or proposing play, while they are tipsy.
  • “He’s hot, I’m up for anything” — leaving your own limits unspoken.
  • Acting on a sudden idea that was never negotiated, without checking again first.

Responsibility and how the space is run

The venue runs on “safety first”. If a participant is drunk, emotionally destabilised, or affecting other people’s safety, staff may step in — including helping them rest, pausing a scene, or requiring them to leave.

This is a private space and every event is by invitation. The organisers have final discretion. Being here means you accept everything above.

Slime Nest belongs to everyone willing to respect other people and themselves.
